1. How Far In Advance Should I Book My Family Photoshoot ?

Family sessions in March, April, May, September, October, and November fill up quickly. I recommend booking as early as possible. If you’re scheduling a few weeks out, we can set a tentative date and adjust it if needed — no penalty for rescheduling.

2. How Do I Book a Family Portrait Session?

To book, I'll send you a contract and a PayPal invoice for a non-refundable $35 retainer, which applies toward your total balance. The remaining amount is due 24 hours before your session.

3. What Time of Day Do You Schedule Family Photoshoots? Do You Offer Weekend Appointments?

Sessions are scheduled 1–1.5 hours before sunset to capture the best natural lighting.

• Spring/Summer: Start time is around 6:30–7:00 PM.
• Fall/Winter: Start time is around 3:30–4:00 PM.

Since I specialize in weddings full-time, family sessions are only available on weekdays.

4. What If We Run Out of Time During the Session?

No need to stress! Sessions may run longer or shorter depending on how things flow, especially with kids. I’ll make sure to capture the number of digitals included in your collection, even if we need to adjust timing.

5. Will You Help Us Look and Feel Our Best?

Absolutely! I’ll guide you through posing and make sure you look relaxed and natural. My experience ensures we’ll capture beautiful, authentic moments with flattering angles and lighting.

6. What Kind of Groupings Can We Expect?

We’ll start with a full family portrait, followed by:

• Mom and kids
• Dad and kids
• Sibling shots (together and individually)
• You're welcome to include pets — just bring someone to help manage them.

We’ll mix traditional poses with candid shots to keep things natural and fun.

7. Does the Collection Price Change If I Don't Need All the Digitals?

No, the collection price remains the same.

8. Do You Deliver Every Photo You Take?

No — I carefully cull out duplicates, test shots, missed focus, and unflattering expressions. You’ll receive only the best images that meet my high-quality standards.

9. Will You Help Me Choose a Location?

Yes! I have send you portrait locations in the Dallas area — we will find the best location that fits your style!

10. When Will I Receive My Photos?

Your private proofing gallery will be available within one week to two weeks of your session, with 40–55 unedited images. You'll have one week to select your favorites for editing.
Final edited photos will be delivered within 21 days after your session.

11. Can I Get a Few Photos Before the 21-Day Turnaround?

Yes! Let me know which 2–3 photos you’d like expedited, and I’ll deliver them within 48–72 hours.

12. Can I Print and Share My Photos?

Of course! Your session includes a print release. However, for the best quality, I recommend ordering prints through the gallery instead of low-quality retail printers like Walgreens or CVS.

13. Can I Have the Unedited Files?

No, I don’t provide RAW files. Editing is a key part of the creative process — like asking a baker for raw ingredients instead of the cake!

14. What If I Want Something Edited After Receiving My Photos?

I allow one round of revisions for minor edits like blemish removal or flyaway hairs — not changes to the overall editing style.

15. Can I Request Specific Shots or Poses?

Absolutely! I’m happy to work with your ideas and inspiration. If a pose isn’t working naturally, I’ll suggest adjustments to make it look more flattering.

16. What If I Need to Reschedule or Cancel My Session?

The retainer is non-refundable. However, if you need to reschedule, it can be applied to a future session (pending availability). If you cancel entirely, the retainer is forfeited.

17. What Happens If There’s an Emergency on the Day of the Shoot?

If I’m unable to make it due to an emergency, I’ll do my best to find a replacement or refund your payment. Thankfully, I’ve never missed a session!

18. Who Owns the Copyright to the Images?

I retain the copyright to all images as the creator. You have the right to print and share your images, but I may also use them to showcase my work.
